We are on our way to Ancient Greece....
Welcome back! 2013 and Christmas are behind us, as are the discussions of river valley civilizations. The first unit of the new semester will focus on Ancient Greece, our first non-river valley civilization. The learning targets for he first chapter on Ancient Greece are:
6.1 I can explain the geography of Ancient Greece.
6.2 I can define and use terms related to Ancient Greece.
6.3 I can explain how the geography of Greece effected the settlement and economy of Ancient Greece
6.4 I can compare and contrast the Minoans and Mycenaean’s and their influence on the Ancient Greeks.
6.5 I can create a chart that explains the social classes of Ancient Greece as well as explains the rights and responsibilities of each class.
6.6 I can compare and contrast the characteristics of governments that developed in Ancient Greece.
6.7 I can compare and contrast the city-states of Athens and Sparta
6.8 I can explain the causes, effects, and events of the Persian War.
6.9 I can explain the causes effects, and events of the Peloponessian War
6.10 I can explain the impact that Alexander the Great had on Ancient Greece.
6.11 I analyze the impact that the Greek culture had on the Ancient and modern world.
Since there are so many learning targets for this chapter we will divide the learning targets into 2 separate test. Test 1 will cover targets 6.1-6.6, and the 2nd test will cover targets 6.7-6.11.
